-OUR MISION-
The Louisiana Resource Guide seeks to create a space where information about resources available to the community can be posted, found, moderated, and updated by the community itself, thus growing and changing according to the needs of the people.

-DESCRIPTION-
The Louisiana Resource Guide Committee is requesting a portion of our start-up costs of $10,000.00. The Louisiana Resource Guide (LRG) has the potential to improve life quality in Louisiana’s communities. It will increase the efficiency at which people gain access to resources such as clinics, schools, government offices and churches.

The LRG website will serve the community at many levels:
*Organizations will be able to customize their own resource listing
*It is a channel to reach and educate the public through agency posted articles
*Professionals, like doctors, can use the LRG to easily find places and specialists where they can refer their patients
*Social workers can print out their own compilation of resources from various parts of the website to give to clients
*The general public will have direct access, from any computer with an internet connection
*The general public can post feedback, alert about outdated information, and flag improper postings
*The Resource Guide will be available in Spanish and English
*Interns and volunteers will periodically verify the information on the site
*Every account in the LRG website is thoroughly reviewed before being assigned, to ensure that the poster does indeed work in a pertinent field

The Louisiana Resource Guide Committee (LRGC) is composed of six different sub-committees:
*Development and planning (Mack Giancola / OPH)
*Design and Technology (Carlos Vergel / LRG)
*Resource Compilation (Peter Schram / Advocacy Center)
*Volunteer Coordination (Dr. Jimmy Huck / Tulane University)
*Marketing (David Gallegos / Advocacy Center)
